How do I make my first appointment?

How do I cancel an appointment?

To cancel your appointment, simply give us a call at 855-549-PAIN. As a courtesy to our other patients, please cancel your appointment as far in advance as possible.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No, a doctor’s referral is not required to see our physicians, although your insurance may require a referral from your primary care physician (PCP). Be sure to check with your insurance carrier for eligibility requirements. Texas Pain Relief Group assistants are available to help you obtain pre-approval. You can also ask your physician for a referral.

How quickly can I be seen?

Relieving your pain is our top priority, so we do everything possible to ensure our patients are seen without delay. Because we have several locations, we can often schedule a visit that very same day.

What is required for my first office visit?

Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment. Remember to bring an ID, insurance card, all medications currently taken, medical history (if possible) and co-payment.

Will I see a doctor every visit?

All of our offices are staffed with highly trained physicians, as well as physician extenders, such as nurse practitioners and certified physician assistants. Only in rare cases would a patient not see a physician at one of our facilities. In that event, the physician extender would still be under a doctor’s supervision.

Will insurance cover my pain treatment?

Virtually all insurance plans cover pain management treatment. Our offices accept most insurance plans and can serve you on an out-of-network basis if needed.

What about co-payments?

Most insurance companies require a co-payment for each visit. By obtaining pre-approval, our assistants can provide a good estimate of your co-pay responsibilities. We cannot waive co-payments, as this may jeopardize insurance company participation.

What if Insurance does not cover my planned pain treatment?

To minimize any uncertainty, our staff can assist in getting your insurance coverage pre-approved. In the event your treatment is not covered, we do accept all major credit cards.

What should I expect on my first visit?

To effectively diagnose and treat your pain, a thorough exam is required on your first visit. Depending on the nature and location of the pain, some medical imaging may be required. Urine tests are performed for patients requiring potentially addictive drugs.

How do I get prescriptions refilled?

Many of the drugs Texas Pain Relief Group dispenses are strictly controlled. For this reason, prescriptions and refills are only given at the time of service. Follow-up visits for medication status are scheduled every 30 days or at the discretion of the physician. No refills can be made by telephone.
